Bubble me Yummy!
Ah…tonight’s sky looks a little sad.
Quick Weekend update!
On Saturday, we went to the Westlife Concert! It was a blast! Westlife used to be my favourite boy band back in its Hey Day! and all those memories of singing their songs came screeching back to me on Saturday. The boys sang a mix of old and new songs with “ahem”, killer dance moves! All the songs I thought I had forgotten flew back to me, those lost lyrics, lost melodies. The crowd at the Vector Arena stadium were brimming with enthusiasm. Everyone sang along to their songs and we did many Mexican waves! The Westlife boys were just as good as they were 10 years ago when their band began. They had cool clothes changes and came back for an encore. We waved our hands up in the air and boogied to the classics. My throat is dead sore (even though it was already before the concert!) and I’m sure everyone had an amazing time! This was my first concert! Afterward, believe it or not, we went out for supper! Another first in NZ! We settled at Meadowlands to the only store left open and had some porridge and noodles. It
wasn’t too fantastic but hey! another first! Twice in a night!
By Sunday (Mother’s Day), us Westlife Diehards were exhausted! For dinner we went to Uncle Tung’s in Meadowlands as well. After a pretty comme ci comme ca dinner, us kiddos craved bubble tea/pearl milk tea! (zhun zhe lye char) [?translation] haha. AND Colin told us there was a shop selling it around the corner! So we huddled off in the cold to find the shop lot and hip hip hooray! There it was in all its cool blue glory! EasyWay Tea ! We ordered some mouthwatering drinks, two bowls of flavoured ice shaving (soooo fine it melts in your mouth! Honestly I want one of those machines!) and this savoury taro-type dish. Everything was B-E-A-U-Ti-ful!
You gotta try it out next time you’re in Meadowlands!

A trip down Memory Lane 2005
When I was flicking through some old pictures on my computer, I discovered a few pictures from Angie Jeh’s wedding trip to New Zealand! So beautiful! They went to One Tree Hill, Cornwall Park, Mission Bay, a wharf near Mission Bay and many other places I can’t remember. Bron & I decided to tag along for some of the pictures, so enjoy the amazing photography!
On Mission Bay beach!
Practicing for her big day! Love the flowers
Smile!
Well…jee, thanks guys for the flowers!
Piggyback time!!!!!

Blue skies! Green fields! = NZ
Wharf
Hanging in a tree!
See us in the sunnies?
Love my feet? I never noticed until now that my smallest toes are crooked & a bit whacked out! I looked at them today & they’re still like that!

Thai Vegetable Carvings!
Note: This is a VERY belated entry on the Ellerslie Garden Show 2007.
It’s just a little snippet of my favourite exhibit of the day! It was the Thailand exhibit… these are the vegetable carvings presented on the stand. Each one took several hours to make…. the little orange flowers below take about 20 minutes each!
This pumpkin was seriously amazing… unfortunately the lady said they have to throw all the vegetables away when they start to rot… what a waste!

Beach Outing!
So…. earlier this year (I’m talking like… in the Summer Holidays- yeah, thatttt long ago!) Jing Yuan, Liz & I went on a little outing to Howick Beach…. It was a relaxing day… just walking to Old Howick town centre and playing in the water ( we were practically the only ones there!)
Jing Yuan!!! hehe she’s just hanging out in a tree!
LizO! As Usual… trying to hide from the camera… I’ll get a picture one day!

Seagull shot
Awesome picture !
Sludgy Mud!!

CRAB!!! we had a lot of fun with these…. we found a MASSIVE crab when we were playing in the water and tried to chase it back to shore to take home.. we missed.. and then we came across this little fella!…. we caught this poor little one but were kind enough to return him to the sea after we finished playing with him!

Yay! I have a picture of LIZ!…well sort of!

Duke of Ed ‘08!
This is my Duke of Ed Bronze challenge…. WOW! what a weekend! Two weeks ago I had the most physically difficult weekend ever! the thing was that we were tramping 27km in bush and a little beach and road…. but that wasn’t the problem… if that was it, it’d be fine but the problem was our packs!! they felt like rocks… you couldn’t stand up without difficulty and getting your pack on took ages! By the time I got home my back was absolutely killing me! blisters on my feet and mosquito bites all over my legs! After saying that… it was a reaLLY enjoyable weekend and I dont really think I’ll forget any of it!
First day! Everyone is like … OMG after the first ten metres.. we were like “there is NO way we can come out of this weekend alive”! but we did in the end… the group isn’t looking too shabby yet!
Bee in the bush!
Julia and Vhari already puffed out after like 20 mins… bush was definitely not our favourite place to be!
After 2-3 hours walking in the bush on friday after school, we actually made it to our campsite! Relief!… my group’s tent had to be setup on a big patch of sticking up grass on a slope! sooo uncomfortable! I couldnt get to sleep for 3 hours because of the heat! i thought it was gonna be cold but it sooooo was NOT! eventually I did fall asleep but the girls woke at one and couldnt sleep till 3 … i knew nothing about it… i was fast asleep!
Next morning… we had to use these burners to cook our meals… the night before we had some sort of bolognese…
Went down to the stream to collect some water to boil for our drink bottles for the day and we were ready to leave!
Oh My gOSH! after half an hour of tramping we reached the black sand dunes of PIHA!! woo! it was super hard climbing them with our packs!

Came across a tunnel and decided to take a quick picture!
After a couple hours of walking.. took a well deserved break….
Got to our lunch spot infront of our waterfall! beautiful
Back in the bush…. *sigh*… after the hardest day ever!! we made it to our campsite and it was the best!! we all gushed in awe at our luxurious(compared to the night before) place we’d be sleeping with all the civilisation around us in PIHA and an awesome playground for us to enjoy!
With our tents up and meals cooking
Sunday morning!!! Had to tramp to our pick up spot…. sadly…. this is a massive kauri tree stump which is carved hollow inside!
Best climbing tree in the world! I love this photo! the duke of Ed group all in a tree!
Looking at a waterfall …. spot for lunch

Getting ready for the last leg of our intense tramp!
And here I am… doesn’t look like me.. that’s because I’ve just endured an extra long….. (extra sweaty) *eww* weekend ! this is a highlight of the trip for me… the end of it…. we reached this amazing look out point and we just had to walk5 mins on a FLAT path till we reached our parents waiting for us… We chilled out for 1/2 hour and it was the absolute best feeling ever!Add comment April 5, 2008
